　　《功能语法导论（第3版）》是M.A.K.Halliday介绍功能语法理论的经典学术著作，自1985年第一版出版以来，就成为国内外许多大学讲授功能语法的基本教科书。《功能语法导论》是M.A.K.Haliday与Christian Matthiessen对第二版进行广泛修订后推出的第三版，与上一版相比，第三版的更新主要体现在：1.增加了系统网络的内容。语言是系统的系统。作为功能语法的主要支柱，系统语法的内容在第3版获得凸现。2.从小句描写走向语篇分析。系统功能语法不同于以句子为描写对象的形式语法或转换生成语法，它把语篇作为分析目标。3.基于语料库的论述。韩礼德对语料库的研究外感兴趣，也一直试图把这个领域的内容用到他的语言研究中。4.理论的修订与扩展。第3版在章节安排上进行了调整，加减少了句子成分的内容，为系统网络和语篇的描写和分析提供了空间。

作者简介

　　韩礼德（M.A.K.Halliday），当代种种语言学理论分属两大思潮，一是以人类学为基本的语言学传统，一是以哲学为基本的语言学传统。在前者中影响较大的应数系统功能语言学派，其倡导者为本书作者韩礼德。韩礼德1925年出生于英格兰约克郡利兹。他在伦敦大学主修中国语言文学后，1947-1949年来华深造，在北京大学罗常培先生指导下研究汉语历史语言学，1949-1950年后专攻现代汉语，导师为广州岭南大学的王力先生。韩回到英国后在剑桥大学的弗斯（Firth）教授等著名语言学家的指导下，对我国14世纪用北方官话译述的（《元朝秘史》作语言学分析，1955年获得博士学位。韩礼德的教学生涯始于剑桥大学和爱丁堡大学，后任伦敦大学学院交际研究中心主任，1965-1970年任伦敦大学语言学教授。自20世纪70年代起，韩礼德在世界各地讲学，如曾任美国耶鲁大学和布朗大学以及肯尼亚内罗毕大学的客座教授，美国加利福尼亚斯坦福行为科学高级研究中心研究员，美国伊利诺伊州立大学语言学教授。1976年移居澳大利亚筹建悉尼大学语言学系，担任系主任工作。1987年后为悉尼大学荣休教授，并在新加坡、日本、英国等地从事教学和科研工作。1995年被聘为北京大学客座教授。
