20世纪50年代，十四世达赖喇嘛·丹增嘉措敬献给毛泽东主席的礼品。

黑白毛编抛石索是藏族人民的放牧用具。用双色牦牛毛编织而成。一头有套环，中部编成椭圆形。使用时中指伸入套环，在中部椭圆形部位放好石子儿，食指抓住末段，用力甩出，放开末段，石子儿就能飞出。牧民以此驱赶牲畜，是藏族传统放牧用具。

The stone-throwing rope is an instrument used for herding in Tibet. Woven with black and white yak hair, it has a loop at one end and an oval in the middle.Putting your middle finger in the loop and a cobblestone in the oval, you grasp the other end of the rope with your index finger and hurl it suddenly. The cobblestone will be tossed out. The stone-throwing rope is a traditional herding tool used by Tibetans.
