Preliminary notes

Shakespeare’s Cradle 作者:[美] 帕特·麦克德米德 著

Preliminary notes

In this work, “Theater” is the place a play is performed, a building or space.

And “Theatre” means drama, plays, the acting profession, the art created.

The first is the American spelling, the second the British; used in this way, however, the words become twice as useful (or half as confusing) both for readers from other languages and within the extended family of global English. The reader’s patience is appreciated.
